Blog Anxiety

I have anxiety about my blog. I have anxiety about my writing. I just get so nervous… *sigh*

I know! I know! It’s just a blog. My blog. And yet…

There are tools counting your blogging worth all over the internet and at times I am frozen in place because of it. My fingers just sitting on the key board. My over thinking brain can go into over drive and give me every reason in the world not to post today. Or tomorrow. Or the next day. I stumble over everything I do, wondering if anyone will like it, if any one will read it. If I am good enough. Then google page rank, alexa, stats start to enter my mind. Eventually it just turns into a big swirling tornado of confidence shredding thoughts.

When did it become all about the stats? When did it become all about the page rank, the site numbers, and any other bloggy judging tool?

Today I saw screw it. I’m not in high school any more. I shouldn’t have to worry about if someone likes me or my blog. It’s just me and my thoughts. My blog. If you like it, I love you for that. If you don’t, I’m sure you will find some place else to go but thanks for stopping by.

No fears. No reservations. The only thing frozen should be my ice cream.

Speaking of ice cream, I have some coffee ice cream in my freezer with my name on it.

Tara, I'm so glad you just decided to let go! The best content, the best blogging, comes from the heart, from the seat of the pants and without fear! I read your blog often, but haven't commented (recently) Thanks for showing us YOU.

Yep, more personal is great – stats don't matter. Less GM stuff is also great……just my 2 cents

HI Tara…since I am so close, please save me some ice cream…the blog, the stats, the am I good enough? I feel the same way. It is easy to forget the fun when you started and why.

Well put girl! I know we all get to that point where we "panic" but the thing is, we all know who we are and that is the best thing to blog about!!!

    Now about that ice cream….

"Great post. Some natural anxiety remedies to look into are St.John's Wort, SAMe, L-Theanine, and Tryptophan. There's also cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and programs like Panic Away and The Linden Method, to name a few. Hope this helps!

OH my goodness–I hear you sister! It's daunting! And overwhelming–why all the pressure! Check out mine–maybe we could help each other when feeling pressured. Be blogger buddies.
